As indicated by Josh Bersin (2018), organizations of all levels and sizes have been involved in the evolution of their performance management practices for many years. However, nothing or relatively inadequate knowledge researched concerning the new standards for continuous performance management (CPM). This is one of the underlying challenges that perpetuates series of challenges in the implementation of continuous performance management. With no standards criteria to guide the implementing procedure for the CPM, the managers are subjected to poor quality CPM. Due to the lack of standard guidelines for CPM, there are some emerging challenges such as lack of implantation of right programs, procedures, and systems. Most of the companies’ staff fail to embrace the new technologies and companies are lacking the adequate training of CPM.
According to Bersin (2017), companies can embrace some approaches that overcome the challenges of implementing continuous performance management. These approaches include the definition of clear objectives and goals for customer relationship management. The objectives ought to be measurable. Appointment of main CPM team that will get involved in the implementation process of the CRM. Precise planning and CPM process analysis can help overcome the challenge of poor staff education and commitment in the implementation process of the CPM.
