ended questions are in most cases philosophical, and they provide room for the student to think
and adequately relate what he or she has learned over time in class. Many teachers do not listen
to the critical conversations which are made by the students. They in most cases take the
advantage that their students are happy while doing mathematics. Portfolios are essential in the
process of learning because they provide opportunities to allow for self – evaluation. Collections
are equally necessary and excellent means through which the teachers can communicate to the
students. Through the groups, it is also possible to schedule for student interviews.

Analysis
It is fortunate enough that in the field of education, there are tremendous changes at this
point. During this period, there is a serious growth and change, and the excitement which comes
as a result of such is very contagious. It is also very much fortunate that the field of mathematics
assessment is undergoing rapid changes and the curriculum and the instructions therein. Such has
always been the case and to be sure of this; there are traditional modifications which have slowly
crept in behind the changes in the curriculum. The assessment at the classroom level which is
used by the teachers is equally making significant changes to the teaching and learning. The use
of open-ended questions which is becoming more prevalent in the curriculum and making the
students think more widely. These methods are very relevant and applicable to these learning
centers.
Professional opinion
This article is very much applicable in the learning institutions where the teachers are
interested in making the best out of the students they are handling. There are still a lot of things
that the students need to learn along the way on their journey through education. This calls for a
change of tactics from what is commonly practiced in these learning centers. The changes that
have been described in this paper are right more especially for the teachers who are determined
to make impacts on the students. These methods, however, cannot succeed if they are forced.
The teachers must be given time to fully understand the concept behind all these practices and
take time to adopt them. The work on these changes should be something which is voluntary
from the side of the teachers. However much as a teacher, you could be on track, yet you need to
make proper adjustments to meet the required standards to impact lives.
