Regularly updating your computer software goes a long way in curbing cybercrime. Software that require regular updates include, operating system and internet security software. This will deter cyber criminals who mostly take advantage of flaws in a software to easily gain access to a software. Cybercriminals also make use of social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp to perpetuate their mission. Thus, a user needs to manage his/her social media settings.
