This author accurately incorporates subtle themes in his stories while associating each with a realistic portrayal of the conditions of human beings through the use of ambiguous endings. The notorious concepts of ambiguity that are used by Hemingway is a proper construction of the relationships which contributes to the developments of the complexity of the characters. The endings in these stories are notoriously tough, and they result in consistent pressure which in some cases could be unnatural or lifeless. There are however some disagreements that are unresolved some writers, however, insist that the stories must come from the imagined end then they can be traced backward from there. Others also claim that they need to come up with something that is original and not by wandering blindly. Hemingway, however, makes an ending that seems to be very ambiguous and hence could be a style on its own.

The devastation of the First World War brought to an end optimism in the country. Majority of the people were left with some feeling of uncertainty and desolation. The result of this can be seen in conformity that is highly prevalent among people. The developments of the modern psychology influenced writers have begun using the stream of consciousness which results into a natural flow of the thoughts that is in every character. Conformity defines much of what a culture become in the long run. An example is the case of China where compliance has yielded competent academic results and businesses which could not be seen before. Much of these implications could not be seen before the Second World War. More often than not, creativity has always resulted from individuality because there are new products which are developed in the process.
It is nonconformity that is a sure way to greatness according to these inspiring stories. It is indeed a necessary virtue which ought to be possessed by all. Many innovations that are remarkable and different have stemmed from nonconformists who have seriously transformed lives, and the changes were ignited by those individuals who had a strong urge that change is inevitable by all means. In the absence of the nonconformists, the development of human beings would be prolonged today. These individuals commit their careers to find smarter solutions. They seek to find solutions that are smarter and are innovative. They continuously ask to come up with solutions which will amazingly affect the lives of people. Indeed, innovation can only be driven by those individuals who think and act differently.
Plot ensures that the attention of the reader is focused on the significant aspects of the lives of the characters. It at the same time motivates the characters to affect the story in the best way possible. Plot equally connects the events for the reader and starts the story with a bang. It reveals the story gradually while taking it to the climax so that the reader’s emotions can be appropriately drawn and ultimately released. The plot in a real sense acts as a souvenir. However, according to Hempel’s stories, it is possible to create accounts without a plot. While it is possible for these stories to attain certainty without schemes, the only stories which are memorable are those who can achieve absolute brilliance. For that reason, Hempel chooses to write short stories which can hold the attention of the reader for the time he or she can concentrate, and before they lose concentration, the story will have ended. However, these stories without plots are more of character descriptions and not stories at all.
When the readers have suspended their disbelief, they can then allow the readers to relate to the characters in the different scenarios that these characters find themselves in. When a character reacts to some horrible scene, then the reader is also likely to respond similarly, and the same direction was making the experiences memorable to the readers. Realism attempts to illustrate life without much romantic subjectivity and idealization. Realism focuses and concentrates much on the actualities that are there in life and treats the standard practices in life accordingly. The primary purpose of applying realism is so that it can emphasize the reality as well as the morality which is in most cases relativistic. This kind of realism which makes the readers have experience with the real world instead of merely believing in fantasy.
The search of the truth that Hemingway engaged in as well as the accuracy contributed to the economic and prose style which he uses in writing. For this famous author, he seldom listed the characters. One virtue of this writer is self – discipline. In as much as he named several writers as his role model yet, he is outstanding. Hemingway had exciting ways of selecting the characters for his stories most of which were based on personal experiences.
