Globalization refers to the connection between different parts of the world. It has resulted in
economic, political and cultural expansion internationally. McDonald’s has been able to take
advantage of the globalization and open up stores in various parts of the world. Currently,
McDonald’s has over 36,000 shops spread across 100 countries. This has helped McDonald's
to grow widely an increase its operation in the world. This has assisted it to spread the United
McDonald’s has been growing tremendously as a key player in the fast-food industry. This
has seen the company spread further the American food culture all over the world (Keel,
2015). Although, they have tried to have a slight touch of the country in which they operate
in, Although, the food outlets that are being opened in various parts of the world are
franchises of McDonald’s, they have been able to influence the international market.
McDonald’s has been able to improve the economics of the countries that they operate in, this
is because they source the materials within the country that they are operating in. This has
been able to improve agricultural activities areas; it has also been able to provide various job
opportunities. This has made McDonald’s to have a policy that deals with sourcing with raw
materials in the country that they operate in.
Globalization has also seen McDonald’s to review its policy on various issues, key among
them is the cultural aspect. This has made it possible for the company to operate in various
countries that have different cultures. The policies have been able to shape the human
resource management of the company in various parts of the world. This has also affected the
policies of the Headquarters. Globalization has opened up various markets for McDonald’s
and also it has subjected it to various cultures that have shaped their policies.
