Natural resources are another way through which fragility comes out in a state. In fragile
states, violence is usually caused as a result of competition for the natural resources. Violent
conflict is generally triggered by political manipulation of groups who are competing for power
which includes competition for the natural resources (Middlemas). Violent conflict is the explicit
portrayal of the lack of understanding between the conflicting groups and is the most destructive
aspect of the development process. It is the ultimate indication of any fragile state.
2. State the reasons for failure and how to solve them
Failure is something that many of us would not want to associate with by all means.
Many people focus much on avoiding failure than in establishing the causes and preventing the
objects. Simple reasons cause failure in people. The first cause of failure is the fear to stand out
from the crowd. People usually become uncomfortable when others change or does something
which makes them feel insecure or inferior in a way. The fear of hurting people’s feelings brings
a sense of complacency and causing people to sleep on their potential (Nash). The solution to
this is simple. If you desire to do anything incredible and which will make you stand above the
rest then be confident about your ideas and desires and you are likely to go far.
The second cause of failure is lack of persistence. People will often quit at the first
encounter with an obstacle. Most of us will quickly give up on something which we are so
passionate about. Anyone who desires to be successful must be persistent and consistent and
persevere. Nothing worth comes so easy. People also fail because they lack humility. With
humility, you can learn a lot of things from people. Some people are successful because they
allowed themselves to learn from others (Nash). They did not become experts too soon. You
need to be humble to avoid unnecessary failures. The last reason why people fail is that they fail
to network and build lasting relationships. There are opportunities that people miss because they
decide to be loners and avoid the company of others (Nash). Even if one has money and what is
required to run a business, there is an essential aspect that they should not miss which is social
capital. This is generated solely through relationships. Therefore build relationships.
