Industrial and organizational psychology is often involved with studying how people behave in places of work. Industrial psychology specialists research and analyze organizational beliefs and culture, how the workers behave, the job processes, and endorsed programs and methods to improve the employees’ efficiency and performance (Cherry, 2019). The methods and statistics employed in I-O psychology include descriptive statistics, which involves summarizing, establishing, and describing simple data. Secondly, variability which shows the degree by which scores in a distribution differ. The mode is the most common character in a statistic.
Individual variances help express the individuality of each person since it distinguishes one person from another. Individual assessment is one of the foremost prevalent components of the practices of I-O. It is often projected to encourage a company’s decision-making by creating a prediction concerning an individual job its success and performance. When analyzing jobs, the I-O psychologist examines what activities are achieved as part of a given job and the skills, knowledge, and capabilities needed. The performance dimensions are used in standard data workers’ expansion, motivation, rewards, advancements, and transfers (Cherry, 019). Encouraging employees enables them to be more involved in the work, become good problem solvers, and have improved degree of innovation. In an organization emotion, determines a personal belief about the value of work, group, or organization. The relationship between feeling, attitude, and behaviors is that they collaborate to determine an employee’s efficiency in doing the job.
In my opinion, everyone who chooses to do business or start an organization or venture into other challenging occupations in the future, better knowledge and understanding in Industrial and Organizational Psychology is critical since it helps one overcome challenge and develop the career better. Consequently, everyone should study and develop knowledge of I-O psychology.
