Lifelong learning refers to the ongoing, voluntary and self-motivated pursuit of knowledge
that an individual does either because of the professional or personal reasons. An example of
lifelong learning is the way the managers and the other employees attend seminars with the
aim of improving their skills.
Learning is supposed to be aligned with the mission and the vision of the organization due to
several reasons. The first reason is that it will make the training to be in line with the goals
and objectives that have been set in the organization. The other reason is the fact that the
alignment will ensure the effectiveness of the training process. The third reason is to increase
the productivity of the employers in the workplace.
Learning is a learned behaviour. The meaning of the term is that leaners are made and not
born. People learn various strategies and use them to succeed in the workplace to succeed in
various tasks that they take part in. The process of learning in itself is also learnt as people
acquire knowledge on how they are going to learn new things that will be important in their
lives as well as their lives in general. One has to be deliberate in his attempt to learn new
things that are beneficial to him or her.
