STATE OF MARYLAND
DEPARTMENT OF LABOR, LICENSING AND REGULATION
DIVISION OF UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE
The above matter refers.
I humbly acknowledge receipt of your decision but I would like to appeal the same on the basis
that I was not accorded a fair hearing that was to be conducted through a phone interview.
Please note that there was a communication breakdown which led to the unfair decision. In my
defense I would like to state that I was not available for the phone interview because I had
changed my phone number.
My efforts of calling the phone numbers on the interview letter for purposes of updating my
phone number were futile because both phone numbers were busy all the time due to corona
virus. This necessitated me to update my phone number on my case account.
I humbly beseech you to reconsider your decision because there is evidence regarding my
voluntary quit employment and it is indeed true that I did quit from Somerset because I had to
stay home to care for my kids due to closure of schools. I made this decision because there is no
one else that can take of my kids.
In order to prove that my appeal is genuine, I have attached my rent list which shows my name
and my kids names which will act as proof that no one else is home to care for my kids.
I trust that you will consider my humble appeal and change your decision.
