Sing 4 Africa is a registered online virtual festival and comprises young, old, and talented people from all walks of life with diverse social, economic backgrounds and cultures. We appreciate the strengths and challenges that we have and share during this trying time of the corona virus epidemic in the diverse global entertainment sector. We took a step in this appreciation and started hosting events like “The cotton tree talk” on digital media podium led by MOS-B, a renowned pop star musician. In the event, public and music artists were given a platform to share their opinions freely; on how the artists and the society in general, can be empowered economically during this challenging time of COVID-19 pandemic characterized by a massive loss of jobs and social restrictions. The public was later treated with spectacular musical performances from different artists. Sing 4 Africa did a pilot concert on the 22nd August 2020, an event that was very successful. Through the pilot project, we found out that Sing 4 Africa will not only help the artists fiscally and monetarily but also give them the needed exposure in the music industry.
Sing 4 Africa intends to organize and host the “Africa Meet Sierra Leone” concert on the 12th December 2020. There will be forty-eight artists from eight countries around the globe. The concert mission is to scout for avenues to assist African artists that solely rely on music. However, due to the coronavirus disease, most are losing hope on their dream to make music. The concert theme will be African primarily to assert our concern, fun, love, and spirit of unity for Africa during the event. The event will be virtually streamed on different social media podiums and television broadcast stations across the continent.
“Africa Meet Sierra Leone” concert brings close to forty-eight musical artists on the same podium. The artists are from Nigeria, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Guinea, Ghana, and other African nations. The concert is also christened ‘Sing 4 Africa’ as MOS-B’s main character comes from Sierra Leone. The event aims to pull people together to enhance COVID -19 awareness and encourage the dual nature of African social-cultural identity.
Sing 4 Africa invites your organization to be part of this great endeavor. Your participation and support will be highly appreciated.
There is a great need, particularly for African artists from low-income neighborhoods, to be enrolled in this program that supports artists during this challenging time of COVID-19 and post COVID-19 period. The project will host concerts across Africa, to support artists who toil and moil to remain on float in the ever-evolving music industry. Sing 4 Africa, as a registered online virtual festival, intends to use its podium to secure funds to help artists.
