Research objectives
The first objective of the research to find out how archaeology influences the lives of the people presently and how it influences the lives of the people in the society. Many theories have been brought forward by various scholars with an attempt to make sense of the archaeological concepts. However, the people in the society will not appreciate the concepts if they do not understand how the archaeology is important to them in the society. One important area that has not been well studied is the importance of the archaeological theories in the day to day lives of the people in the society. This paper will, therefore, seek to bridge this gap and make archaeology to be more important in the day to day lives of the people.
The other objective is to find out the perception that the people in the society have about the concept of archaeology. The perception that the people in the society have with regards to the concept of archaeology is important because it may point on what is supposed to be done to make the concept appreciated by the people in the society. The research is, therefore, aimed at improving the popularity of the subject among the people.
Methodology
The research will be conducted through observation of the perception that the people in the society have about archaeology. Observation will be done through structured interviews that will provide more important information that will help in the current research. The subjects that will take part in the research will include the college students who do not belong to the archaeology class. The research is basically an assessment of the perception that the people in the society have with regards to archaeology.
The research will not be based on a single site or a single community but the society as a whole. It will address how the people in the traditional days values archaeology and how it was important to them. The research will compare how traditional people valued archaeology and how the field is currently valued. The study will also be seeking ways of making the field of archaeology to be more important to the people in the society. I have chosen literature because it contains a wealth of information that will help in the research. The researchers will also conduct structured interviews on the campus among the students that are not studying archaeology to assess how they perceive the subject. The information from the interviews will be compared with the information collected from the literature. Some of the information will also be collected through observation.
The data will be analysed using Microsoft Excel to make sure that the information collected makes sense to the scholars and the society in general. The information from the observations will be used in complimenting the information collected in the research.
The whole research will be done in 30 days. The first week will involve the process of writing the proposal. There will be an allowance of one week to allow the lecturers to go through the proposal and approve it. The next step will involve the collecting of data. Traveling will not be required because the subjects for the interview are readily available. The information in literature will be accessed through the internet.
Conclusion
The information collected in the research will be important because it will help in understanding the real reason why the field of archaeology is not embraced in society. The research is therefore very important in society today; hence it is important.
